FACTIONS
the empire
the main force in loros, the empire is the governing body of the region. they have the power, the money, and the troops to back them up. having held power for well over eight-hundred years at this point, having gotten significantly more strict as time moved on, they're seen as something of an unstoppable force and many believe that they will be able to crush spectre without any problems.
> the emperor // the highest ranking official in the entire empire. groomed from birth from this role, there was no question in who it would go to. his pokemon are bred from only the finest battle stock, he is well-schooled in strategy, and some believe that leadership of loros is his birthright. the emperor is allowed six pokemon at his creation. (1/1)
> the council // the king's four counselors are technically the second most powerful members of the government, however anyone within their meetings can obviously see that there is a hierarchy among them. though many are groomed for this position from birth, all are required to serve military time before taking this role, and occasionally those with outstanding military records can rise to this position without having been birthed for it. even so, generally only those with exceptional family lines find themselves here. counselors may have up to five pokemon at their creation. (3/4)
> the nobles // the lords and ladies that govern each city with an iron fist. all nobles are enlisted in the empire's militia and act as something of generals within their city. they have their own army stationed beneath them that they are required to train and command. while they are required to listen to the emperor and his council if given direct orders, the nobles are generally allowed to control their cities as they see fit. those who control big cities are generally viewed as more powerful than those within rural towns. nobles may have up to four pokemon at their creation. (5/8)
> the heirs // the nobles' chosen successors. while generally the rank of noble is passed between families as the nobles are given full control over who they choose to inherit their title, occasionally this rank passes to loyal soldiers, or someone entirely unrelated to the noble if they pass before finding a suitable successor. the heirs are chosen and trained by their particular noble and must be okay'd by their player before being created. heirs may have up to four pokemon upon their creation. (0/8)
> the captains // soldiers who are responsible for the squad they have assigned. powerful, intelligent strategists, and often quite bloodthirsty, captains are often of military families who have raised captains for many years. captains battle on the frontlines and take the blame for the faults and flaws of those they command and take credit for their successes. captains may have up to three pokemon upon their creation.
> the intelligence officers // spies working to pick up information from those in the surrounding town. as of late, many spies have been trying to find their way into spectre in order to send battle plans back to the capitol in order to help more quickly disband this threat. intelligence officers may have one or two pokemon upon their creation.
> the soldiers // miscellaneous, fully accepted soldiers of the empire. taking the role of police, protectors, and enforcers, soldiers are seen as something of grunts. even so, their job is incredibly secure and they have significantly more power and wealth than most civilians. soldiers may have one or two pokemon with them upon creation.
> the cadets // soldiers-in-training between the ages of sixteen and nineteen. often lured in through promises of wealth and power, many find that joining the militia wasn't what they thought it to be, particularly the first time that they are required to subdue civilians through any means possible. cadets have no pokemon of their own, but rather are assigned a training pokemon to keep until their graduation and live on the empire's training facilities. upon graduation- sometime between the ages of eighteen and nineteen- they are granted their first pokemon and told where they are to be deployed to.
> the civilians // anyone who hasn't enlisted in the military but isn't a member of spectre or a sympathizer of them falls into this category. civilians may not have any pokemon (legally) unless they have a permit to do so. permits are only granted to incredibly rich families for pet-quality pokemon, or to business owners for work-grade pokemon. these are not considered "battle suitable" and will not be much of a threat to military pokemon. civilians may have one pokemon at mosT.
spectre
the rebellion, the uprising, the rioters, whatever you prefer to call them, spectre is the empire's biggest threat. looking to destroy the monarchy and give power back to the people, spectre's goal is seen as noble by many. however, on the other end of things, many see this "noble deed" to be a far too heroic goal, and instead think their reason for existing to be their own selfish desire for power, while others fear the anarchy that they may bring about. regardless of what spectre is, in the eyes of the law, every single one of them is a criminal, and all are slated for execution.
> the officials // hailing from the original protests, the officials act as something of a face for the movement. charismatic, intelligent, and extremely driven, spectre's officials are their chief commanders and they are obeyed above all else. Upon their creation, they may have up to five pokemon. (2/3)
> the commanders // experts at guerrilla warfare, the commanders are spectre's main military leaders. at the front lines of every battle, and having their whole being dedicated to crushing the empire's forces, the commanders are seen as a power to be reckoned with. upon their creation, commanders may have up to four pokemon. (1/4)
> the commanders' seconds // handpicked by the commanders themselves, the seconds are training to take their place in case anything happens to them. often young, devoted, and enthusiastic members of spectre, some see them to have been given too much power for their age. they, however, should not be underestimated. their skill is almost unrivaled, and their commanders have been grooming them to reach their full potential. these character must be accepted by their respective commander's player before their creation. they may have up to four pokemon at their start. (0/4)
> the speakers // generally viewed as the more peaceful protesters of spectre, the speakers' jobs namely entail drawing new members to their side, gaining public sympathy, and drawing sympathizers onto the front lines. charismatic, tactful, and acting as public faces for the faction, the speakers hold an incredibly important job socially, if not on the battlefield. upon their creation, speakers may have up to three pokemon. (2/4)
> the intelligence officer // anyone currently enlisted in the empire's army in order to send information back to spectre to help better organize their plans, along with anyone working to open communication ways and send information back and forth, the spies are the informers of spectre's army and work to help further their knowledge. spies may have up to two pokemon upon their creation.
> the soldiers // the sympathizers who have stepped up and entered spectre's training in order to fight for them against the empire. soldiers will stop at nothing to get the rights that they've been promised, and with many of them, there is no line that they won't cross in order to further their goal. they may have up to two pokemon upon their creation.
the sympathizers // civilians who haven't been pushed far enough to officially join spectre's ranks, but also wouldn't turn them in at the first sign of their existance; those willing to turn a blind eye to the rebellion and let them pass through without problem. generally speaking, sympathizers have no pokemon of their own, however some illegally keep them, or have permits to keep them for their businesses. sympathizers may have up to one pokemon.
