It has officially been one year since the riots in newhaven, and that means the empire is holding a ball in honor of the soldiers that lost their lives maintaining the peace in the city. while all are invited to this grand event all newhaven citizens are required to attend, soldiers and civilians alike.
while the gates being opened for a whole day is a great thing- the business will be extraordinary- something is definitely fishy behind the whole thing. the fact that ms. liliana bellamy is sponsoring the ordeal only makes it more so, seeing as the last time she partied in newhaven, three supposed enemies of the state were executed as the main event. even so, it's not like many people have enough sway to turn down the invitation of one of the emperor's own counselors. so don your party attire and put on a pretty face- it's time to pretend all the glitter and gold can truly hide the blood on the empire's hands.
events on glory and gore are loosely grouped into phases. during these phases, certain goals should try to be accomplished. for each one accomplished by a particular faction, perks are handed out, and it's regarded as a win for them, shifting the plot and future events. phases are not sticky, and if needed, can be extended in case of important plot points, or shortened if things wrap up faster than planned.
phase one: may 26th - june 5th
the opening ceremony - the ball's opening speech and the start of the night. the empire's soldiers and cadets are stationed around the building in order to help keep the peace. intelligence officers are scattered about, talking around and trying to gain information, and captains, nobles, and their heirs are mingling busy commanding their troops. spectre agents are trying to push their way into the ball in order to help further their cause. during this stage, characters should be mingling and interacting in order to help create connections between characters and further personal plotlines.
phase two: june 6th - june 16th
the main event - the prisoners will be brought to the main floor for their execution; a show of power and to let the people see the punishment for conspiring against the empire. the empire will be aiming to maintain control throughout this event. spectre will be trying to save their sympathizers and get them out of the ball unharmed.
phase three: june 17th - june 27th
the closing ceremony - everyone should calmly exit the ballroom and return to their homes and hotel rooms. with any luck- in the empire's mind- everything will go smoothly, and over the next few months, newhaven will be opened to the public. spectre, on the other hand, has other plans. the empire soldiers should be taken out, and spectre should take over newhaven- making it into a stronghold by any means necessary.

the empire aims to maintain control over newhaven and keep their counselor liliana bellamy safe from harm during her time outside of lorcastle. spectre wishes to gain a base in newhaven and assassinate the counselor, if at all possible. at the very least, they desire to have their sympathizers released safely from the empire's sentence.
