IN BETWEEN [ANA]

At the head of an empty, battered table sat a dark-skinned man bent over a thin laptop, mindlessly typing away at the small keys. It was nearing midnight and the room was dark, save for the blue-white glow of the screen. Cassius was prone to late-night sessions like this; there was no point in trying to sleep when all that would happen would be unproductive hours spent staring at a ceiling and worrying.

After a moment he cried out in frustration, slamming a fist down on the wood of the table and squeezing so hard his knuckles were white."Damn it," he hissed, voice low-- it seemed he would have to start over. He still wasn't sure why he had caved into the others' insistence that he get rid of his archaic, 'inefficient' physical paper and pen for this...this monstrosity.

With a sigh and a hand run through his hair, Cassius blinked his bleary eyes and hunkered down again, eyes drifting down to the right corner as the date changed. "Well, what do you know; it's my birthday." In all the chaos surrounding their plans to travel to Newhaven and take the city, he hadn't really been paying attention. Thirty years. Just like that.
