[PTab=BIOGRAPHY]
BUT NOW I'VE SEEN THE UNWRITTEN FACTS EVERYWHERE I LOOK.
History
If Philomela Agnes was the child raised in secret, then Procne Agnes was the child raised in public, so-to-speak. Twin sister of Philomela, she was born into the Agnes family of historical archivists and ideally, was meant to be the first of a new generation that would write the absolute truth of history, regardless of what was said otherwise. While her twin began to hate the Empire for it's lack of telling truth and honesty, Procne could not help but stumble onto a realization very early in her growing career. And that was the simple truth of, "History is written by the victors". Whether one liked them or not, the Empire was very definitely the victor of many clashes between itself and revolutionary forces. It was no wonder why so many had been portrayed as such vile beings that supposedly committed unwholesome actions.
Though bitter about the realization, Procne quickly realized she could not go against the Imperial Throne without inciting some retaliation upon the rest of her family. As much as she hated it, the young woman bit her tongue and swallowed down the words that she wanted to say. Nonetheless, Procne did her best in her role as an archivist for the Empire, occasionally sneaking in kernels of truth that could help people figure out the details for themselves. While none of her edits or work was ever detected for the "subversive" qualities that it contained, it was still not the sort of material that the Agnes family hoped would take in the future.
And then came the Newhaven Riots.
While her parents put in for a falsified sick leave to observe the protests, Procne stayed behind at work that day. It was not until a couple days later she'd hear about how the protests had turned into full scale riots and death tolls began to tally up in great number. With the entire city on a forced military lockdown, it was impossible for Procne to get inside and find out what happened to her family. Eventually as the riots continued and her parents remained missing from work, it came time for the last of the Agnes among the archivists to answer questions. She told them an abbreviated version of the truth, admitting that the older Agnes archivists had gone to observe the protests out of curiosity. She then wove a story about them earnestly doing their work and taking notes of the occasion before the Riots had erupted. She did not know what became of them, but soon enough she would.
One way or another though, her sister Philomela had managed to return home. She told the whole story to Procne, for good or for ill. Though the events had served to galvanize her twin's beliefs and to make her speak up, for Procne it practically seemed to do the opposite. She grew worried and feared for her sister's safety. With their parents already dead, the sisters only had each other left and the archivist was scared to lose the last family she had. While Philomela would eventually leave again and become one of the more vocal members of Spectre, Procne remained an archivist for the Empire, wanting no part of the brewing war for either side. She simply wanted to remain out of it altogether. Nonetheless, Procne desires to pull Philomela out of the conflict as well, thinking that it's for her twin's own good.
