Who is... Arianna Black? What secrets lay beneath the bitter and resilient shell of this bastard who darkens the doorstep of Imperial Loros? To every day men and women, she is simply the child of Lord Alfred Black by way of his late wife, Lady Charlene Black whom passed away when Arianna was much younger. Loyal and influential retainers to the Imperial Family, the Blacks had always served the throne in whatever capacity that they possibly could. In this fashion, Arianna was raised to become an opportunistic young woman that always looked for a way to gain both power and reputation in whatever endeavors she undertook.

The daughter of Lord Alfred would eventually be enrolled in the military academy, graduating at the top of her class. It was also around this time that she would gain the nickname of "Bittersteel" for her favoritism of the Steel-type and a sour attitude that never seemed to leave her. The nickname would even follow her into the actual military, where she became part of the regular forces. While having to face her fair share of combat duties, Bittersteel's superiors began to notice her crafty methods in rooting out the enemy and gave her a promotion, naming her an Intelligence Officer of the Imperial forces. It was around this time that she began to gain the notice of a certain individual who had secretly been watching over progress. A man of power and stature bar none in the Empire of Loros.

Yes, the Emperor himself.

It was one of the most carefully kept secrets in all the Empire. One known only by a very small handful of individuals. The Emperor, Lord Alfred, and the Council whom would only learn in due course much like Arianna Black herself. Arianna Black was not the child of Alfred Black. No, in a rather startling private conversation with the girl, he would reveal that it was the Emperor himself who sired Arianna. The Black scion was in actuality, the bastard daughter of the Emperor himself. He had taken notice of his wayward spawn's success over the years and liked what he saw enough to bring her to his court and reveal what Lord Alfred had kept secret for so long. And with the problem of Spectre looking to be a greater problem than any other in recent years, the Emperor decided to give his bastard child a chance to really make something of herself.

Infiltrate Spectre. Destroy it from the inside out. And as her reward, Arianna was promised something beyond measure. Legitimization. Official acknowledgement of Arianna not as a bastard born out of wedlock, but as a true and legitimate child of the Emperor. She would not just be the scion of an influential House, but rather, she would be a Princess of the Empire itself. A reward that truly was beyond measure or worth. The chance to become the golden child of a father she'd never known. And what could Arianna, the Bittersteel Bastard do, but promise success and accept the mission that was given to her?

However, the mission was not the first thing on her mind. Rather, Bittersteel immeadietly returned to the "family" home that she had grown up in, demanding answers from Alfred Black about why and what happened. The old patriarch of House Black sighed before explaining to Arianna just what had happened upon a stormy night quite some time ago. The Emperor himself came to Lord Black with a newborn infant in his arms and told the influential and loyal lord to raise the child as if she were his and Charlene's own. The Lady of the household was quite shocked to see her husband arrive with a newborn infant, but when informed it was a request by the Emperor himself, she did not dare question it further. And from that day on, Lord Alfred and Lady Charlene both raised her as if she was their own child, never letting on to the truth of the matter. And with her questions now answered, the woman known as Bittersteel left the household, even more bitter than she ever was before.

With a potential of moving incredibly faster than usual and bringing all of it's might to bear in crushing physical attacks, Ruthenium is a very adamant force upon the battlefield.
